DIBS (Volunteering) FAQ
What are Dibs?
RCLL is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteer parents, coaches, and an all-volunteer league board.
As a volunteer organization, we need the help of the RCLL community to support the organization and our players. This includes leveraging a Dibs volunteer system to cover various shifts during our season. Your contributions are greatly appreciated!
How many Dibs hours am I required to fulfill?
- 1 Player = 6 shift minimum (about 12 hours total)
- 2 Players = 8 shift minimum (about 16 hours total)
- 3+ Players = 9 shift minimum (about 18 hours total)
Dibs Volunteer Sign Up
We are using a volunteer tracking program called Track it Forward. The RCLL Track it Forward page can be found here: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/robbinsdale-crystal-little-league. You will receive an email invitation from Track it Forward inviting you to log in. The email associated with the account is the email used to register your player(s). Note: if you did NOT add an additional parent or guardian they will not be automatically uploaded into Track it Forward app. If you would like an additional volunteer to work towards your dibs requirement, you can send the additional volunteers name and email address to: [email protected].
User IDs are defaulted to your email address, if you would like to change it, you can do that under your profile.
From the email, click on the link to automatically log in.
Change your password and hit save.
If you enable texts, you will receive text reminders for your shifts as well as updates in case shifts are canceled or postponed due to weather, etc.
If you have multiple players, your hours will be tracked under 1 of your players.
Once your account is set up you can use the mobile app to sign up for shifts. Search for Track it Forward in your mobile app store.
You can find shifts by clicking on Events in the menu bar. If you are signing up for a shift that will be worked by someone other than yourself, please enter that in the notes section when signing up.
When you have worked enough hours to fulfill your obligation, you will be awarded a milestone in Track it Forward to confirm you are done with your hours. You can also track your progress in the app or website.
How to earn DIBS credits:
DIBS credits are earned by claiming and fulfilling a posted shift. Head Coaches/Team Parents may ask parents to help occasionally. Helping out at practices or during games are NOT considered dibs volunteer shifts. Opportunities for dibs include: concessions, grill, scoreboard or pitch count.
Head coaches will receive all of their credits covered.. Assistant coaches will each receive 3 credits towards their requirements. Team parents receive 1 credit towards their requirements.
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST SAVE 3 SHIFTS TO BE COMPLETED POST-SEASON (AFTER JUNE 18TH).
Why aren't there any shifts to volunteer for?
If you click on the session name and you don't see any shifts listed, this would mean that there are currently no shifts available to claim. Volunteer shifts are usually posted to the website every 2 weeks and a notification via email is sent.
I can't make my volunteer shift that I signed up for.
You have up to 2 days prior to a shift to log into the dibs program and "unclaim" a shift. If you are unable to work your volunteer shift and are in the 2 day window, please notify the volunteer coordinator as soon as possible so he/she can try to find a replacement. The volunteer coordinator will be able to unassign you from the shift so that another person can claim it.
When will my Dib shift be marked complete?
Shifts are confirmed as completed by the volunteer coordinator, typically within a week of working them.
*Please note that checks will be destroyed when your Dibs requirements are complete.
Can I hire someone to complete my Dibs shifts for me?
Yes! You can hire someone you know or you can reach out to the volunteer coordinator for a list of individuals that are interested in working.
How old do volunteers need to be?
Volunteers need to be at least 13 years old to work in the concession stand being a runner. Grillers need to be at least 18 years old.
